Why No Images.

I have not been here long but due to curiosity killing the cat I have to ask why no images allowed.

I can only assume:

1. Staff are trying to keep the size of the database to a minimum.
2. In the past users have been posting images too large. Which slows the server down.
3. As image hosts generally can back track to were an image is posted the no image rule is to protect the forum.

I personally think images help in most posts especially graphics tools such as brushes, textures etc.
Try to imagine some of Jaguarwoman's graphics tools without an image.

They can be useful in music posts to identify albums accurately.


I'm a big believer in following rules so please don't get the idea I'm bucking the system as that is not the case. Just a tad curious is all.............

Your correct on all point's but there's also another reason.

All album art is subject to copyright the same as the music, if it was posted we would be hosting it and it could be used to force a take down of the forum amd possibly a prosecution.

There's no reason why you can't post the coded links to the image and it only takes a moment to open coded links.

Seriously, thanks Guisti for answering, as I wasn't totally sure as to why.

@ Guisti Thanks for a prompt response and a sensible one too. In all the years I've been on warez sites I've never thought about copyright on album artwork.

The last thing anyone wants is a forum closure or prosecuion..........

I must assume then that this rule also applies to the use of the tags to insert images. Am I correct that this is also not allowed?

I am new and just want to do it right (or not do it right LOL).
